Trade Show Displays and Booths-Make it Count

Participating in a trade show is a great way to get noticed in front of a lot of current customers and potential customers.  Most trade shows last a day or two; that’s a lot of visitors!  Here’s what a trade show display can do for you:

  • Show your product
  • Describe your product or service
  • Creates first impressions
  • Specific to your type of product
  • Helps get your foot in the door
  • Can have up to 200 visitors at your booth

You can spend a lot of money on a trade show, so make it a good return on your investment:

  • Let your current customers know-send out mailings
  • Why are you there (new company, introducing a new product)
  • Set your goals (what do you want to get out of the show)
  • Staff who will be at the show must be prepared and knowledgeable
  • Invest in good signage

As mentioned above, first impressions mean a lot when attracting a potential customer.  Having thebest signage will be a huge advantage.  It’s not easy; your space is probably going to be about 10 feet wide and the average person will walk by in 8-10 seconds.

  • Signs should be visible and legible from the aisle of the showroom
  • Up-to-date (invest in something new)
  • Use logo, name of company, and your tag line
  • Tell what your company does (which field, what industry, what you can solve or do for the customer
  • Ask someone not in your industry if they can explain what your booth  is about just by looking at the sign(s)

Obviously these trade show display booths should be done a little better:

Here are some very good trade show display ideas:

Sign Company Fort Collins at Greeley Stampede

// // Sign Company Fort Collins at Greeley Stampede//

Connecting Signs was a very proud sponsor of the 2013 Greeley Stampede, donating custom signs across the Cuff Catcher Hospitality Building, along with six “2013 Greeley Stampede Proud Sponsor” custom designed banners displayed at several locations across Loveland, Fort Collins, and Windsor. We also helped by installing ATV decals to promote local business in Northern Colorado. Of course it was awesome to get the word out about our fast-growing one year old business, but most importantly it made us feel good just to be a part of this great event here in Northern Colorado. The Cuff Catcher Hospitality area was fantastic – 14 area restaurants graciously served awesome meals throughout the 11 day event, and the only feedback that we heard was 100% positive! We look forward to working with the Greeley Stampede in the future, helping them with custom banners, vehicle graphics, vehicle decals or any other types of signage. Sincere thanks from the team at Connecting Signs!

Choosing a sign company in Fort Collins, Loveland, and Greeley

// // Choosing a sign company in Fort Collins, Loveland, and Greeley//

Most people don’t realize sign companies even exist until they need a banner for an event, or they open their own business and come to the realization that they need their own sign out front to help customers find them. It can be overwhelming since there are so many different types of signs – storefront signs, window vinyl lettering, monument signs, electronic messaging centers, LED signs, dimensional letters, vehicle graphics, lobby signs, wayfinding signs,… the list goes on and on! It doesnt have to be so complicated – once you know (or think you know) the type of sign you need, it narrows down the choices to help you find a sign company in Fort Collins, Loveland, Greeley, Denver, or Cheyenne.

      • Look at existing signs – Look around Fort Collins to see what types of signs work best. Be sure to check out as many of your competitors as possible. Nothing is more disheartening than to spend your time and money on what you thought was the perfect sign, than to drive by your competitors shop and wish you had done something differently.

      • Go online – The internet is a great resource to find information on the different types of signs: how they’re made, images of effective signage, etc. It also will give you a good idea for which sign companies in Fort Collins specialize in the different types of signs.

      • Ask questions – Interview the prospective sign companies to get their ideas on the best type of signage for your business and location. If a sign company doesn’t have time to discuss and consult with you, maybe they aren’t the right match for your project.

      • Look local –There are many national sign companies, but you may want to look for a company in your region in order to get the service and solution that meets your specific, local needs. Ask them about their experience in the area and look at their portfolio of signs. A sign company with local experience should have an idea of what kind of signage works best for that market and be able to help you make choices.

      • Service – Another factor to consider in a Fort Collins sign company is the services they offer. Do you need a new look? A new logo? If so, find a sign company that offers graphic design, logo creation assistance, and other imaging services. Sign companies can also provide installation, maintenance, and repair.

      • Marketing experience – Signs are an essential part of any marketing plan. You might want to check to see what types of marketing experience the local sign companies have. Do they only do large monument signs? How about interior signs? And of course, the ever-increasingly popular vehicle wraps and graphics.

      • Sign pricing – Price is always a factor in any purchase and you will probably compare prices, but do not let price alone be the factor for your sign. Each sign is a custom creation, so find a sign company that will explain the materials and fabrication methods in the signage they are bidding. A sign is an investment that works for you 24/7 and should last for a long time (if needed). It is better to pay a little more for quality materials and design than to end up with a sign that doesnt command attention and represent your logo and brand to it’s fullest.

      • Get references – Ask the sign company to show you completed projects and get references. Follow up on them and you should be well on your way to finding a sign company in Fort Collins, Loveland, Greeley, or Cheyenne that you will be happy with.

Keep in mind that every good sign company fully understands that your business’s success is the number one priority for them… you succeed, they succeed!

Using POP displays and in-store signage

There are many types of store signs that you can use to advertise your store. Here are some examples of the different types of POP signs that are used by successful companies.

  • Banners are great for drawing attention to a specific area of you store.
  • Countertop POP displays keep people reading when they are checking out or waiting for someone to help them.
  • Floor graphics and wall graphics help direct people to the sales and promotions you are trying to show them.

Floor Gaphics

  • Magnets put your store front in the homes of people.
  • Video displays inform people as they pass by telling them about the advantages of a certain product.
  • Everyone loves a good poster. These can help draw attention to deals or select merchandise that you want to sell.
  • Businesses should use promotional window graphics and wall graphics on blank space inside their store. Customers eyes are always drawn to creatively designed graphics.

Wall Graphics
POP signs are used by companies to promote the deals of the day or the specials of the week. The signs can also be used to direct peoples attention to the top sales that expire by the end of the week. If you want to attract people while they are in your store and make it easy for them to shop, then you will want to use POP signage as a way to direct your customers.

Banners are great marketing tools!

Banners are a great way to quickly and effectively get your message out, and get your customers in! At Connecting Signs we pride ourselves in designing, building, and delivering exactly what you want, as quickly as you need. Just this past Friday at 2pm our customer called in a panic and said “I need a 10’ x 40’ banner ASAP!!!” They needed it by noon the following Monday, and we were able to deliver a fully finished (hems and grommets) custom-print banner just in time. There is no other sign option I know of that can be done in that time frame and in that size.

Banners are both a great value and at the same time very versatile.  They are inexpensive and can be used both indoors and outdoors; they are also portable and can be placed in different spots very easily.

We start with a sturdy, resilient vinyl and employ the latest technology digital printing equipment and techniques, combined with high-quality latex inks to produce your design. Our large format HP printer and inks also provide a very environment-friendly solution. We like being able to help reduce the use of harsh solvent inks and the resulting chemical out-gassing.

Banners get a bad rap for using ropes, bungee cords, duct tape, or whatever else to throw it up on a wall or between a couple posts. They also have the reputation of not lasting very long. We recently did an installation of a 7’ x 28’ banner that is mounted in an aluminum frame which will keep the banner held tightly and securely on a south exposure outdoor installation….

It gives a permanent “look” to a simple vinyl banner and should give the owner years of effective advertising. We’ll have to wait to see exactly how long it lasts, but have been told to expect at least 5-7 years. The great thing about this install is that the aluminum frame allows a quick change-out to a replacement banner, or a brand new message! You just cannot get that level of versatility or value from a traditional hard-substrate sign.

At Connecting Signs we live and breathe customer service. For banners you have the option of submitting your own design, or you can have our professional design team create one at no extra charge. We will send you a full color proof – FREE – for your approval. Once we get your approval, we generally print your banner within 24 to 48 hours. We also have no color limits or additional charges for full custom graphics. If you can dream it up, we can do it.

So whether you are in a crunch and need to get your business advertised QUICKLY, or you need something for your school, sports team, or even a wedding – give us a call at (970) 493-0133! We will Get-R-Done!
