How to Increase Brand Awareness with a Vehicle Wrap

Vance Cover Photo

Vehicle wraps for brand awareness

Vehicle wraps are a unique and interesting way to showcase your brand, elevate your company’s prestige, and increase your brand’s awareness. Vehicle wraps, generally, have the same benefits that billboard advertising does, however, there are some major differences that sets them apart from standard billboard advertising. A vehicle wrap that is intentionally designed with thought-out placement of graphics and professionally installed can generate tons buzz and awareness about your brand. With standard billboard advertising, there are placement restrictions and no guarantee that your advertisement will be noticed. A vehicle wrap allows your ad to be seen by thousands on the road with no permitting or placement restrictions. Understanding your target audience is important and with a branded vehicle you can park in a strategic location to ensure that the intended audience is seeing your brand. A well-kept vehicle wrap can last for years and are easily removed when you want to re-brand your vehicle.

Designing a Vehicle Wrap

Creating an effective vehicle wrap design can be challenging. To start, you need to make sure that you are using an accurate template to design from and that all the graphics in the vehicle wrap design on the computer are high-resolution or, even better, vector-based. A simple, clean design is usually the most effective way to make a lasting impression. Minimizing the amount of copy and call-to-actions is also important when you’re designing a commercial vehicle wrap. Only feature the most important message because the vehicle wrap will be viewed very quickly, and a busy design will not be read or noticed!

Printing and Installing a Vehicle Wrap

The next important phases of a vehicle wrap project are the printing and installation phases. If you’re taking this project on all by yourself and you’re new to vehicle wraps, it might be a good idea to partner with a credible sign company to ensure that your vehicle wrap is printed and laminated correctly. Locating an experienced installer will also save you lots of frustrations and re-prints. The wrap installation process can take up to three days, longer depending on how detailed you want your vehicle wrap to be. Properly caring for your newly branded vehicle is also important and ongoing. A maintained vehicle wrap can provide years of effective, impressionable advertising!

Vehicle Decals from a Fort Collins Sign Company - Connecting Signs

Vehicle Decals Fort Collins

Vehicle Wraps are the best advertising method for many types of businesses (big and small), but can be very expensive.  Vehicle Decals with your logo and information are just as effective and much less expensive.

Radio Station Custom Vehicle Wrap

Recently, a local radio station in Northern Colorado came to us to help them re-design their 2015 Nissan Pathfinder to reflect their new branded logo. We were lucky enough to work with them on their first wrap. They changed their logo quite a bit to reflect their new sound. We wanted to help them keep to their budget as well, so this new wrap needed to be a custom partial vehicle wrap.

The color scheme to be used in the wrap was changed to a simple blue, and red based design. We decided to design this with the logo in mind. It’s highlighted by the angled lines with the blue and red sampled from the darkest blues and darkest reds. The website address and corporate logos also needed to be clearly shown on the wrap. We also installed perforated window vinyl on the side and rear windows for additional coverage. But, the best part about perforated vinyl is that you can see out of it from inside the vehicle.

Even custom partial vehicle wraps can be versatile and can increase your visibility to your audience. You can also think of vehicle wraps as a moving billboard! If you are on the road, driving your company van or truck around, you can take all those views you’re getting on the highway or parked as a way to engage potential customers. Small businesses can benefit greatly from vehicle wraps, especially if your business is new in town. The cost saved by shifting your marketing budget to include a vehicle wrap or vehicle graphics (like side door decals, or rear window graphics) is great after you look at the cost of an actual billboard.

Full Truck Wrap

Haymaker Full Truck Wrap

Haymaker Full Truck Wrap Install

When Matt Bremyer contacted us about wrapping his F350, his email stated that he already had the design and the vinyl printed so he only needed installation.  He wanted vinyl on the hood, retrax bed cover, tail gate, roof, grill, bumpers and full sides.  We call this a full truck wrap or as Matt put it, “literally the whole vehicle is covered.”  As we got to know Matt a little better, we found out that when he said “the whole vehicle is covered” he meant it; including the underneath!  Wheels – dish/lip and spokes, front and rear radius arms (suspension control arms), front and rear drive shafts, and headlight surrounds.

Matt understands what a rolling billboard is and what it can do for a business – especially a new business!  He wanted his truck wrap to be a lot like his business – high quality, worth what you pay, and no skimping to save a buck.  Haymaker is a product of Peak Audio LLC which is a company located in Laramie, WY started by Matt.  He is a headphone expert.  He understands what his customers’ want – the best listening experience, premium materials, comfort, durability and function.  Visit his website to learn more about this interesting product.  http://www.the-haymaker.com/

Matt had already put a lot of work into the truck, so he needed the design to match the “wow” effect of the truck.  His edgy design certainly goes with the style of the truck.   This truck will definitely get noticed and draw attention.  There is no doubt what the product is and how to contact the company.  Our job was to make sure that the installation went exactly like Matt wanted.  We really had our work cut out for us because of all the “extras” he wanted wrap.  With all the work and thought put into this marketing tool for his business, we didn’t want to let him down.  Matt spent a lot of time with us as the installation progressed.  We got to know a lot about him and want his business to be successful, which gave us incentive to really get this wrap perfect!  More importantly, since we did not design or print the vinyl, we had to work with what we had.  No mistakes, because we couldn’t re-print anything at our shop.  Here’s what Matt had to say:

” I looked at all of the comparable companies in the region and decided to go with Connecting Signs and I’m very Glad I did!! They do excellent work, very professional and high quality. Definitely a pleasure to work with them and look forward to doing more business with them! Highly Recommend!! They’ll take good care of you!”  Matt – December 2015

We think the wrap did turn out perfect; take a look at the pictures of this awesome, large project!  Give us a call for all your vehicle graphic wraps.  No matter where you are in the process of getting your vehicle wrapped, we can make sure your vision happens!  We can do all 3 steps – design, print and install – or just one or two.  Connecting Signs is ready to partner with you to get noticed!

Fleet Vehicle Graphics

When The Feet calls for installation of vehicle decals, it’s never just one vehicle – it’s many!  Recently we got a call to help out with installation of their company graphics on 10 Ford Transits.  The back of our shop has a great parking lot that is perfect for the 10 vehicles.

We like to do things fast here at Connecting Signs, so we tried to get in as many vehicles that the inside of our shop would hold to do the installation.

The vehicle graphics used for The Feet are cut vinyl decals that are applied to the vehicles.  When we do work for The Feet, everyone in the shop helps out because of the amount vehicles they bring in at one time and the process used to create the decal.  Their logo is cut out of 3M premium vinyl royal purple and sunflower yellow and applied by layering the logo on top of each other.  When the purple graphics is laid on top of the yellow, it makes the finished logo as seen below:

The layered logo and text is then applied by using transfer tape.

Their fleet is made up of multiple vehicle types depending on the delivery – getting the work done more efficiently for their customers.  We have installed graphics to Ford Transits, Toyota Corollas and Tacoma, Ford E250s, Ford Focus, Ford Ranger, and a Nissan!

Does your business need a company vehicle for making deliveries like The Feet or do you need multiple vehicles for salespeople, carrying equipment or traveling to construction sites?  If you do decide that fleets will be a value to your business, there are many things to keep in mind like what type of vehicle (van, passenger car), to lease or buy.  Read more here to find out about lots of information for leasing.  Of course, don’t forget about identifying your fleet with a full vehicle wrap, partial vehicle wrap or vehicle decals.  Here are some things to keep in mind:

  • Be consistent with your design (wording, graphics, color) on all vehicles
  • Keep it simple
  • State what you do and how you can be contacted (website, phone number)
  • Add your tagline
  • If you add a new vehicle, schedule it for installation of decals or wrap as soon as possible

The Feet’s fleet vehicle graphics does all of these things with their vehicle decals.  Give them a call for delivery service from Casper, Wyoming to Castle Rock, Colorado.  Connecting Signs uses them for many of our deliveries of banners, posters and other signage.  It’s a great partnership!  Give us a call 970-493-0133.  We would love to partner with you and park your fleet in our huge parking lot!

Color Change Vehicle Wraps

Do you love your car more than anything else you own? Do you have a fever and the only prescription is something new and exciting for the love of your life?  Want to make a change to the look?  Change the color with a wrap!  This growing new trend is the latest way to enhance the look of your vehicle.  The only problem you will have is choosing the perfect color and finish for your ride:

  • Bold colors such as Satin Canyon Copper and Sheer Luck Green, you can choose from 73 of the most innovative colors and finishes in the industry.
  • Six distinctive-looking finishes: matte, satin, gloss, carbon fiber, straight fiber and brushed metal
  • Little or no seams

A sample of some of the many colors:

Below is a hummer limo which we did a Satin Pearl White color change and a before and after of a red sports car with a color change to matte deep green:

Cost is determined by several factors: how much of the vehicle is being wrapped, the film you select, the complexity of the processing, cutting and installation.

Painting versus wrapping:

Wrap film is not permanent, making it fast and easy to change your mind or your color. It’s also fast and easy to remove and actually protects the paint job.  In many cases, film can be a less expensive option.

Below is a Toyota Prius we fully wrapped – the full wrap, the removal, the original paint job:

Or maybe your style is less; other options that are not as expensive and take a shorter time for install.  Add some newness to your hood, roof, trunk lid, bumpers, door panels, and exterior mirror covers.  Add a few racing stripes in just the right location!

Great looking cars look even greater with a stripe or two – grey mustang with dusty rose stripes added and a white corvette with a bold, black stripe down the middle of the hood:

We use high quality, service and warranty 3m wrap film.  The warranty for a vehicle wrap ensures that all elements of a graphic – from the film, ink, adhesive and protective coating will perform well together over an extended period and in the harshest environments and is considered one of the ‘strongest warranties in the industry’.  Expected performance life – 7 years for Matte, Satin, and Gloss – 5 years for Carbon Fiber, Straight Fiber, and Brushed Metal.

Stop by our shop and look at our sample of colors or contact us today for any questions regarding all the details involved with color change vehicle wraps 970-493-0133.  If you’re willing to part with your ride for a few hours or a day or two, let us know how we can assist.  Also, visit our web site for a free quote www.connectingsigns.com.

Custom Matte Truck Wrap and Boat Wrap Graphics

Heads will turn to get a better look at this Custom Matte Truck wrap with matching bass fishing boat wrap!  We wrapped this sweet package so the client could travel in style to participate in professional bass tournaments.

The client wanted his 2015 F150 truck and 2015 25 ft. Ranger Bass Fishing boat to match in a crazy digital camo pattern to be noticed and he wanted his sponsors’ brands to get some exposure. A Camo Truck Wrap is more popular than ever, and we really enjoyed designing this particular one!

This was a totally custom designed project from start to finish.  Our team at Connecting Signs worked closely with the client in the initial design phase guaranteeing that his most important concepts would be met.  The digitally printed design used 3M premium IJ180 vinyl wrap and 3M 8915 Ultra Matte was used to laminate.   The Matte Truck Wrap and Custom Boat Wrap also involved wrapping the truck topper, the trailer, and the inside of the boat including the windshield and the motor.   The sponsorships are big, bold and stand out getting them noticed for their support.

Vinyl boat wraps can help protect from minor scratches, and the laminate acts as a barrier against water and UV rays, maintaining the integrity of your vessel’s hull. We use top quality 3M vinyl films that come with up to 7 years lifespan, so you can be sure your boat wrap will last at least as long as a normal paint finish.

We couldn’t be happier with the final product and the reaction from the client, “The boat and truck graphics turned out so much greater than what I expected when I was working the design and approving the proofs!”

Connecting Signs has the experts to get you noticed with custom graphics for any vehicle anywhere! Parked, traveling on a busy highway or floating, contact us to get started and together we will create a vehicle wrap that stands out – 970.493.0133
