WHAT IS “DIGITAL PRINTING”?

Out of all the printing methods utilized today, the quickest and most efficient form of printing is digital printingDigital printing is simply the term that refers to the various methods of printing a digitally-created image directly to media. At Connecting Signs, we utilize two large-format digital printers. One is an HP 360 Latex Printer capable of printing on 54″ wide media. This printer has six ink cartridges for vibrant and striking full-color prints. We use this machine to print on adhesive vinyl, scrim banner, poster paper, canvas, and fabrics. The other large-format digital printer we utilize in-house is our HP Scitex FB550. This is a flatbed printer capable of printing 64″ wide onto a maximum of 2.5″ thick substrate. Since this machine allows us to print directly to the substrate, it creates much less waste during production.

WHAT TYPE OF FILE SHOULD DO I SEND?

Your graphic designer can send us any type of file as long as it is full-size (or proportionally half-scale or quarter-scale) and at a high enough resolution (100-300 ppi) to ensure that there is no pixelation effect at full-size. If you’re looking for a cut vinyl decal or dimensional letters/logos, the artwork must be vector-based and all fonts must be outlined! As stated above, you can send any type of file, but the best file-types are .pdf, .eps, and .ai files.

HOW LONG DOES A VEHICLE WRAP LAST?

vehicle wrap has a useful life of up to 5 years and depends on several factors. Typically, the first areas to begin to lift are the deep insets and curved areas around fenders and wheel wells. Horizontal surfaces (like the hood and roof) will also fade faster than the vertical sides and rear surfaces because of harsh UV rays. It’s very important to watch for areas that are beginning to look faded by the sun and to call to schedule a consultation to remedy the issue quickly. Another variable to factor in with the longevity of your vehicle wrap is the type of vinyl used. Here at Connecting Signs, we only use laminated premium wrap film to ensure that your vehicle wrap will last as long as possible. Make sure that you take good care of your wrapped vehicle by regularly cleaning it and keeping it inside or covered when not in use (if possible).
