Truck Graphics for Iron Mountain

Feb 6, 2015 | Vehicle Graphics and Wraps

We were introduced to Iron Mountain Truck & Auto in Windsor, CO in Spring-2012, and since then have done several projects for them including monument sign refacing, building signage, wayfinding signs, and window graphics.

Iron Mountain Truck & Auto is a full-service collision and refinishing facility handling all makes, all models, large or small. They have an incredible 25,000 square foot location that includes generous indoor bays for working on any size vehicle, as well as three paint booths – including a brand new 60′ x 18′ booth that fits even the largest semi-tractor! Their team of experienced professionals work with the best equipment to do the job correctly. If you manage a fleet of trucks, vans, semi’s, let the folks at Iron Mountain give you one less thing to worry about when collision repair is needed!

  • Mission

Iron Mountain Truck & Auto opened up in their new location in spring-2012, and like any new company (or new location) they are in the mode of looking for the most effective means of brand advertising. The managers at Iron Mountain – Kevin, Branden, and Eric, had a truck they used primarily for parts runs and other running around, and they wanted it to do some “double-duty” and help with their marketing as well.

Their white GMC Sierra was sporting some graphics and window vinyl, but they knew they wanted to take it to another level – and why not, study after study shows that vehicle graphics are the most effective form of advertising! Just this morning on the way to work I heard that an AP study released findings that Americans spent 5.5 BILLION hours stuck in traffic in 2011. Trust me on this one – those folks aren’t sitting there in traffic with the yellow pages open & trying to find a plumber, or handyman, or body shop! …if you’re going to be stuck in traffic, might as well have your vehicle working for you with some professionally designed and installed graphics.

Ok, back to Iron Mountain truck wrap project!…

  • Consultation & Design

After an initial visit at their shop looking over the truck and taking measurements, we were able to get them a quick, on-the-spot estimate of costs and some different options like full wraps, 3/4 wraps, 1/2 wraps.

They were able to work directly with Lindsay, one of our experienced graphic design professionals, to discuss, design, and exchange mockups showing what the finished product would look like. Just take a look at this picture of the template and photoshopped mockup, and see how closely it represented the final design! No doubt, not every sign company or wrap shop takes the time (or maybe has the tools) to do that!

  • Print

As with most vehicle wraps, this project required getting the longest lasting use out of the material – which is why we chose premium 3M wrap vinyl and laminate. We also utilized the latest-technology, HP L26500 Latex print equipment. At Connecting Signs and CS Wraps we keep all our equipment calibrated, and create custom print profiles for perfect color matching.

The Iron Mountain wrap took some creative design, print, and installation to make sure wrap vinyl matched adjoining window perf vinyl, since graphic elements flowed across various vehicle features.

  • Install

As most know, vehicle wrap installations are not done correctly without attention to detail. At CS Wraps we take extreme pride in not taking installation short-cuts. The neat thing about this wrap project was that during the installation, we were visited by around 35 fellow Fort Collins Chamber of Commerce members in our Red Carpet Ribbon Cutting event!!! The photo below shows Steve demonstrating a live wrap install to the big crowd…

  • Delivery

Without a doubt, the most rewarding part of any of our vehicle graphics projects is when the customer first lays eyes on the completed project – and this truck delivery was no exception!

As you can see, the early proofs and mockups accurately represented what the completed wrap would look like. The guys at Iron Mountain were thrilled with the results!
